Social Media and Human Rights

Censorship is often understood as the act of stopping the expression of views. But sometimes it is more about whose voice is heard rather than what is said. Has the internet opened up and improved levels of debate or is this just political correctness gone mad? With international human rights, arts and culture broadcaster and journalist, Bidisha, writer and journalist Peter Hitchens, feminist writer and journalist Julie Bindel and Gates Cambridge Alumna in the Department of Sociology at Cambridge, Ella McPherson.

Date:
Wednesday, 21 October, 2015 - 19:00 to 20:30
Event location:
Divinity School, St John's College
